The kids were in the crib while I was strapped to an infant to my back. Ha! The whole thing was beginning to form, but there was still a long way to go. It would take lots of time and an enthusiasm for shopping. To keep in my budget, I took my boys along with me as I searched for gems hidden in estate sales. Every week, we would stroll through garage and estate sales on Fridays and Saturdays buying a mixture of new and old pieces. I then spent the rest of my time painting and sanding outside in our driveway. It was a bit like this... This was the time my love of restoring furniture began. When our home was furnished I couldn't quit! On the streets I was able to rent a tiny area and then sold a few objects. In the end, I was stuffed with too numerous pieces of furniture to fit into the room available. My house was transformed into a space that I hosted open houses where up to 1000 visitors could see the things on the first floor, and then purchase them. That's how my company Growing Days was born. Not only was my business flourishing, but I was also growing my sweet family too. I was finding that balance between what it took starting a new venture while also being a mommy. Growing Days just fit. The year 2013 was the year my daughter Nora was our fourth baby. My company was doing well however I needed a break. I made the decision to take some break from my antique furniture and slow down to be at home with my children. This was just what I needed. After a couple of months, my phone started to begin to. They asked for my help in interior decoration as well as renovations. The majority of them had been to my home during open houses for furniture. I began to take on clients at a time taking my time but it didn't take time before I was running several accounts, and I was operating the complete business of home remodeling. There is a good chance that I would have been laughing if somebody had informed me that my business was going to be the basis for an upcoming television show on DIY Network. When I look back, it still makes me giggle.
