Allison Brooks Janney (born April 14th, 1970) is an American actor. The actress from the United States is known for her performances on the stage and on screen. Allison Janney, who spent nearly 20 years performing in regional theatres, became famous for her character as White House Press Secretary C.J. Gregg, the famous and beloved character on The West Wing by NBC (NBC 1999-2006), is a household name. Allison Janney was always a late stager. She got her Ohio driving license one year later at 17 years old. She didn't go on the first date until after she went to the university. Although she started auditioning at the age 23, Faris didn't start appearing onscreen until her 30s. Faris was a divorcee from Mom in the year 2020 has chosen to be very selective in her roles. The majority of her appearances have been in films with the exception of the 2022 film The Estate. Faris said to PEOPLE in an interview with them that it wasn't her conscious decision. Anna Faris left her popular CBS sitcom, Mom, before the eighth and final season. Faris originally said she wanted to quit the show Mom so that she could accept new tasks. But, she shares more details about the reasons behind her return to acting. Janney has worn a hairpiece in her series since it began. The show's producers did not have to fret. Fallon said, "Everyone knows now that I've been sporting the hairpiece since I joined the show's first season, but no one had any idea about it." Janney plans to bring the wig to keep as a souvenir. During the early seasons there was a report that she made up to $125,000 an episode. The show's creators estimate that in the third or fourth season however, Faris along with her partner Allison Janey were earning $200,000 each episode.
