Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and vocalist since the mid 1990s. She started her Broadway career performing in musicals, including Wicked Legally Blonde, as well as Hair. She was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress and director, has spent the majority of her career working alongside well-known directors and actors on stage and screen. Ashford can be seen next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford's current project will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will stream on Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. Ashford returns to Broadway in the month of March 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the nation's crisis, which swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment hearings in over 100 years. She starred in two seasons on the cult CBS comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Some other Broadway credits for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned an Tony Award nomination. Born and raised in Denver Ashford currently splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
