Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born on August 9th, 1976 at Beaumont Puy of Domme. Her parents, a dentist and a teacher recognised and encouraged her passion for theater and acting as early as she was a child. This overcame her initial ambition to be a primatologist due to her passion for monkeys. At the age of a young lady the rise to fame was swift and ended with early success. In 1998, after completing her education, she was selected to take part in Jeunes Premiers which is a French show on TV that is a talent-scouting initiative, which is that was sponsored by Canal+. There she received the award for best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. This led her to embark on a professional acting career. Tautou was a student at in the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris in her youth and studied there at the age of a child she has since renounced her Catholic childhood. The actress declares herself to be non-Catholic. In addition to her acting career she also pursued a modeling career. It is her turn to be the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is sometimes referred to as the Chanel Muse. She is a keen photographer and created a show in the Arles International Festival titled Superficial. Her photography largely focuses on celebrity and fame, and turns the camera on the journalists who scrutinised her after her meteoric rise to fame as Amelie as well as several self-portraits. Audrey Tautou became a star after her international fame was established with her role debut as Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie was a box-office international hit, receiving accolades at award ceremonies around the globe. It's the largest French language film to ever be released to be released in the US. Following this massive success, Tautou starred in numerous films, including British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. Also, she starred with Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
